Dropstone has provided technical and managerial support to the Ecuadorian Red Cross, which is implementing a water supply project financed by the Swiss Red Cross and the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent. Our Senior Hydrogeologist travelled several times to the Western Coast of the country, in the area severely affected by the earthquake that struck Ecuador in 2016. The 7,8 magnitude earthquake damaged the vital infrastructures providing water, gas and electricity to the people living in the coastal area of Manabi and Esmeraldas provinces.
Dropstone provided expert advice to ensure the quality and sustainability of the projects. Here a compact water treatment unit that was installed to provide again clean drinking water for communities severely affected by the earthquake in the rural areas of Manabi.
